Apps for Good. This digital inclusion project, driven by CDI Europe, brought together a group of disadvantaged young people to use mobile technology to solve real issues in their lives and local communities. Apps for Good helped young people to use their creativity to develop the problem solving and design skills which are extremely valuable not only in the mobile app industry, but in today’s complex information society. Richard provided coaching and mobile technology expertise to both CDI Europe and the young people themselves. Visit the Apps for Good site to see what they came up with. |

Digital Britons. The UK government is planning its long-term digital strategy, framed by the 2009 Digital Britain report. Instead of taking guidance from industry leaders with vested interests, what would happen if the government asked children and young people, the real Digital Britons, to invent their digital future? This exciting project, delivered with the production company Magic Lantern, brought together three groups of young people to create short films, exploring their own visions of the future. |

Creative Places. Creativity is the most valuable and dynamic process in the new Knowledge Economy. Organisations must ensure that their people, business processes, technology and real-estate portfolio are working in accord, in order to harness the best from their creative minds. This research project for a major broadcaster sought to uncover the conditions required for creativity within large organisations as they adapt their businesses to the 21st Century. |

Millennial Children. Technology literate and difficult to understand, today’s young people are the graduate recruits of tomorrow and the boardroom faces of 2025. An understanding of their world is necessary to capitalise on and to retain their skills in the coming years. In early 2009 Richard completed a major report on the next generation of office workers. The report was a strategic document delivered to one of the world’s largest technology manufacturers. Using think-tanks, childrens interviews, classroom observation and other primary data, the report explored the nature of the Millennial child, debunking several myths in the process. |
